In un paesino arroccato tra i monti abruzzesi da secoli si tiene una corsa unica. Ogni anno a Pacentro gli uomini di lanciano - a piedi nudi - da un dirupo fatto di roccia viva e corrono giù fino al torrente, per poi risalire. È una corsa crudele, perché si corre scalzi. Il primo che entra in chiesa vince la cosiddetta Corsa degli Zingari. Un rito ancestrale le cui origini si ignorano, al quale partecipare per motivi spirituali o materiali, legati all'indissolubile rapporto tra natura e uomo.
