Digitmovies reprises the alternate series “SP” (started with “The ancient world” OST by Anna Karin Klockar for documentaries) dedicated to new TV soundtracks, soundtracks live concerts and OST compilations, issuing the OST by Pino Donaggio for the 2009 TV Miniseries “L’uomo che cavalcava nel buio” (Aka “The man who rided in the darkness”) directed by Salvatore Basile, produced by Alessandro Jacchia and Maurizio Momi for Albatross Ent. starring Terence Hill as Rocco. In Arezzo in 1998 the jockey Fabrizio, who was competing for a Grand Prix, fell from his horse Brando and died leaving Rocco, the owner of the stable who had let it to him for eleven years, in a depressed state of mind. When Rocco comes back to the stable in 2009, the horse Brando dies. The death of the horse has depressed Serena, Fabrizio's 16 year old daughter. One day an injured female horse called Rebecca turns up which has quite a wild look with everybody, but a friendship is born between the young girl and the female horse. Patrizia, Fabrizio's widow, tells her daughter to stay away from Rocco and the stable, remembering the sad incident of her father's death. However, Patrizia thinks that it did happen because of Rocco and tells him that he did drug the horse Brando. In the second episode, whilst riding Rebecca, Serena falls from the horse and is hospitalized. Rocco tries to finally leave the stable and he confesses to Patrizia that he was not responsible for the incident, but rather Fabrizio himself. After the first race Serena wanted to participate in a Grand Prix, but the recent incident has troubled her opinion. Pino Donaggio has written an orchestral OST, conducted by Maurizio Abeni based on the main theme “Man with a secret” performer by the beautiful voice of Claudia Arvati that is often reprised with romantic and nostalgic instrumental versions alternated to dark and dramatic themes (enriched with electronic sounds created by Paolo Steffan, usual collaborator of M°Donaggio) that are the perfect background music to the the Characters and their feelings. For this CD with a total time of 51:40 we have used the stereo master tapes of the recording session made in Sofia by Marco Streccioni and this product was realized under the supervision of the author. A CD that will make happy all the Pino Donaggio and Terence Hill fans around the world.
