THE SOUNDTRACK

Ivan Vandor (Pécs, 1932) has written many OSTs like “I giorni contati” (1962), “Nudi per vivere” (1964), “Amori pericolosi” (1964), “Andremo in città” (1966), “Se sei vivo spara” (1967). “Death on the run” commentary has all the classic features of Eurospy genre: jazz, blues, latin, Balcan music, a wild shake, love themes and orchestal passages full of tension and violence. A young Stelvio Cipriani vigorously conducts the Orchestra. For this 57:00-minutes-long CD of ours we used Recording Session’s mono masters.

DIRECTOR AND CAST

Directed by Sergio Corbucci in 1967 and starring Ty Hardin, Michael Rennie, Paola Pitagora, Vittorio Caprioli, Gordon Mitchell, Nando Poggi, Giulio Coltellacci, Vassili Karis, Valentino Macchi, James Clay, Graziella Granata, Hum Silver, Erik Shippers.

PLOT

Jason lives his days going from jail to jail and breaking out extremely easily. During a conveyance to a greek prison he manages to break out, aided by someone that forces him to retrieve a microfilm. Jason succeedes but he finds out that other people have interests in the microfilm, among them a British diplomat. A network of unclear and deceptive interests begins to form around Jason. He eventually will defeat the two rival gangs, reveal a Russian spy and give the microfilm to the British diplomat, with the aid of a friend. But Greek authorities imprison Jason again, giving him the unmpteenth chance to break out.
