Digitmovies presents for the first time in CD format the complete original motion picture soundtrack of "Il corsaro nero"(aka "Blackie the pirate") directed in 1971 by Vincent Thomas and starring the formidable duo Bud Spencer and Terence Hill. This fictional character was created by the adventurous pen of italian writer Emilio Salgari and it had various movie incarnations: in 1920, the silent version directed by Vitale Di Stefano, in 1937 directed by Amleto Palermi with a score by Alessandro Cicognini,in 1976 directed by Sergio Sollima, starring the popular star Kabir Bedi with music by Guido & Maurizio De Angelis (available on Digitmovies CDDM032).Composer Gino Peguri (author of several scores for movies like "Il boia scarlatto", "Sette magnifiche pistole", "Brucia, ragazzo, brucia" ,"Sigpress contro Scotland Yard","Rose rosse per il Fuhrer") has written an orchestral score for "Il corsaro nero" available on the top rare 1971 Rca Lp of the SP series (SP 8035) and top rare Cormorano single (ZC 50180). For this CD release we could find the original stereo master tapes used for the album and the complete session tapes including both stereo and mono mixex. Beside the 12 stereo album tracks we could add here nine extra stereo alternate tracks and five extra mono alternate tracks, all previously unreleased in the original album. The score is dominated by the funny title song with a pop sound called "Orza qui poggia lì" performed by Paolo Ferrara acompanied by the Nora Orlandi choir (tr.6 and tr.14) reprised with variations in tr.8,tr.12,tr.18,tr.20,tr.21 (the off vocal version), tr.27).The score is richly filled with ispanic music elements (tr.3,tr.4,tr.11,tr.15,tr.16).Adventurous music is featured in tr.1,tr.7,tr.13,tr.24, tr.25, while period music is featured in tr.10,tr.17.A romantic love theme appears in tr.2 and tr.26). Finally another Film Music rarity can be available today among collectors.
