“La ragazzina” (1974) is the first of the two Guida – Imperoli movies (the second one, “Blue Jeans” was released in 1975). The movie directed by Mario Imperoli is a successful mix of drama and eroticism, very soft and never improper, ennobled by the graces of a very young and beautiful blonde actress Gloria Guida in a role of a lyceum student. Many school companions become enamoured of her, among them a boy who just wants to attitudinize. The girl prefers the young Art teacher who, without informing the girl, has a relationship with the wife of a lawyer. The plot of the movie is intriguing enough, the personages are well characterized and the summer location (the lovely town of Lignano Sabbiadoro in Veneto) makes the movie fresh and exciting. The atmosphere between romantic and erotic is underscored with the beautiful music of M°Nico Fidenco, one of the illustrious names of the Italian Film Music. Those days only a 45 rpm single from “La ragazzina” was issued officially (ERRE RR 3066) containing the songs “Why are you running fast” and “The flag” performed by the group “La rosa dei venti” (for contractual restrictions these songs cannot be enclosed here). Apart from the mentioned single, C.A.M. had issued a 33 rpm album as a part of their sonorization library album series (CML 068) containing the instrumental score by Nico Fidenco. This album is extremely rare, and it’s impossible to find nowadays. We wanted to issue this CD so as to give the chance to collectors to find easily a score that deserves to be preserved on CD. The score opens with the main theme, an acoustic ballade with waltz tempo (Tr.1), reprised in Tr.8 using the great whistle of Alessandro Alessandroni. The score is characterized by various brilliant dance floor themes as background to the parties attended by the girl (Tr.2,Tr.3,Tr.4,Tr.7,Tr.10,Tr.12). This cues are dominated by the sound of the Moog keyboard in vogue during the middle of the ‘70s. The romantic/erotic side of the story is emphasized by very sweet, sometimes sad music passages like Tr.5, Tr.6, Tr.9 (with the splendid voice of Edda Dell’Orso), Tr.14,Tr.15. For this CD we used the stereophonic master tape of the 33 rpm album survived in the archives of C.A.M. The CD project was authorized by the same company (C.A.M.).
