SWEPT AWAY BY FAMILY AFFECTION
SOUNDTRACK:
Gianni Ferrio is without a doubt one of the biggest names in film music. He used his immense talent to create music for Gialli films, Westerns and erotic comedies and also left an unforgettable mark in Italian television and pop music (for his long-lasting friendship with the singer Mina).
For this film, Gianni Ferrio composed an enjoyable score where the recurring main melody is happy and carefree for the male protagonist and is alternated with romantic orchestral phrases. We used all the music recorded in stereo during the recording session. A dance track called “Disco Boogie” (not by Ferrio) was not included.
DIRECTOR AND CAST:
Directed in 1978 by Mauro Severino. Starring Lando Buzzanca, Gloria Guida, Andréa Ferréol , Nerina Montagnani, Gianna Salvi, Franca Dominici, Nais Lago.
PLOT:
Memè Di Costanzo lives with his decrepit grandmother Nana and her old dog Piccolo. He has his head in the clouds even though he is not a young boy. He spends time with his lover, Eliana Salvetti, at her house -which she shares with other uninhibited actresses - whenever things become too much with Nana and Piccolo. Just when Eliana has had enough, Memè is fired by the Real Estate Company "Zodiac" where he worked so he decides to marry the pharmacist Isotta Uccelli for her money and use it to take care of Nana and Piccolo. But he hadn’t taken into account Isotta’s intolerable mother and sisters. When Nana and Piccolo are forcibly introduced into the middle-class house, the situation becomes unbearable and they leave. Nana falls ill and is put in a nursing home but she is happy to finally be free. Piccolo gets taken onboard a ship as a stowaway, but he eventually returns to the pharmacy where Memè works in order to make ends meet.
IL VIZIO DI FAMIGLIA
SOUNDTRACK:
We are releasing the OST from "Il Vizio Di Famiglia" from the stereo master tapes of the original recording session. Unfortunately a country style song is missing, which is played during the scene where Edwige Fenech is on a motorcycle (but it could also be archive material). The composer created spirited and funny background music played by an orchestra and synthesizer, which is alternated with lounge music with sounds of pop music as well as the mysterious moods of giallo films.
DIRECTOR AND CAST:
Directed in 1975 by Mariano Laurenti. Starring Edwige Fenech, Renzo Montagnani, Nieves Navarro, Gigi Ballista, Juliette Mayniel, Orchidea de Santis.
PLOT:
The inheritance of old Count Joshua triggers a war between relatives. His sister tries to keep his sister-in-law out of the inheritance by using a swindler just out of prison to trick her, and she even fakes her own son’s kidnapping. While everyone puts up with the illegitimate stepdaughter Susy’s blackmail, the maid reveals to be the most cunning of all.
